Teri’s fascination with light, shadows and shapes is evident in the majority of her work, primarily created in oils and soft pastels. With an impressionistic edge, she calls upon her love of nature, architecture and human and animal forms to create realistic landscapes, portraits and still life.
The Toledo Museum of Art and Chicago’s American Academy of Art were part of Teri’s study along with private mentoring and years of self-study. In 2008, after working in the commercial art and design field for over 30 years, she established a studio providing art classes for children and adults which she maintained for ten years. She is expanding her plein air painting efforts and finds the exercise eye-opening and a great challenge - also lot of fun!
While she maintains membership and volunteers in several art clubs and societies, she has won several awards for her artwork on local and regional levels, and has also been juried into national exhibits.
She is eager to try new painting challenges because she feels artists never (or, should never) stop learning. Teri also accepts commisions.
