Victorian (1800s) Amethyst Rhinestone Brooch with clear rhinestone accents in brass scroll setting/frame, nested on reclaimed, spotted dyed suede pendant/frame on black leather cord

Suede pendant/frame just under 2" wide by 2" tall
Leather cord is 1/8" wide and is 16" long
Brooch is 1" x 1 1/4"
Gold tone, lobster claw closure
Comfortable to wear

Brooch has some scratches on surface, but is spectacular

History: Amethyst is a quartz stone that became very popular starting in 1800s. In the 1900s, it became a go-to stone for high-end jewelry designers. You will often see it in antique jewelry, especially Victorian. Amethyst was often duplicated in glass and rhinestones, as in this piece. This brooch piece is in excellent condition. Amethyst is the birthstone of February.
