Grand entrances aren't suitable for every home but a grand front door is. There are so many colors and stains to choose from. I always start with a stain for a new front door. You can paint a stained door later but it is very expensive (or time consuming) to change from paint to stain. A nice rich stain with a weatherproof sealer is one choice or if your front door isn't stainable or you are ready for a change, I suggest a charcoal paint color. It looks good with almost any roof, brick, wood or stone. It's a very good background for antique brass, nickel, gold or silver hardware. If you decide to go for a bright color, make sure it compliments your exterior. Professional interior designers are very helpful and can save you a lot of time and money by helping you make the right decision.

Whatever you choose always make a good impression!
